April Spring Day--Good Ride

In good company and with excellent weather, Ward and I had an exceptional bike ride today.

First, heading East and North up into the Knobs from the West end of the county, we circled back along the ridge top (N. Skyline) with spectacular views over the valley, Louisville's skyscrapers and the hills to the far south.

Stopping 21 miles into it, we fed our engines with panini at Hobknobb's in Floyds Knobs before dipping South, flying downhill into the Ohio Valley on Paoli Pike to then take a rambling trek Westward, back up from the valley and chew into the switch backs to gain 300 feet and crest at Edwardsville.

Delighted possessors of all we gained over gravity, we then worked cross-country, skirting subdivisions, farms and woods, wending our way back home on Alonzo Smith, Cooks Mill, Henriot, Evans Jacobi, John Pectol and Old Vincennes.

Early April. Forty miles (67 k.). Sure some saddle soreness, back pain and tightness in the calves, but it is nice to know we can do this again.

A hoot and a spirit builder.
